ٍEconomical sanction and its affect to
The political and international relation of the
Islamic Republic of IRAN
Unfortunately nowadays IslamicrepublicofIranis facing with some economical and financial sanction as well as some limitation or ban on its crude oil exportation program. Although it was continuously said that making or approving any kind of sanction against Iran's peaceful nuclear activity wouldn’t harm Iran's economy or economical section , and it has no legal justification , but the reality which we are facing or it can be clearly seen , is some thing else.
It is clear and somehow normal that any kind of limitation or abstractions in the direct road of something, will force it to stop or to reduce its speed particularly these sanctions work as an impediment in front of Iran to reach its aims and goals but the important thing in this issue is to see the cost and pro of that policy for Iran.
Hence one country is insisting on its proved and certain right; it won't let the others to ignore it.Iran's nuclear activity as it was said several times is totally peaceful just for the purpose of producing Electricity and some comical medicine and fuel for Tehran Atomic Power plant. T he IAEA stated on its several reports that there is no diversion inIran's nuclear activity, but some hostile country like US,Britain; French with some political motivations are supporting illegal sanction which was ratified by UN at leas 8 times. The main aim of these sanctions is to stopIranto gain its right and try to forceIranto bring on its knees.
Regardless to the illegality and unjustifiably of imposed sanctions by the west against another sovereign country which is totally opposed the international laws and customs which need numerous paper to analyze and explain, (what I am going to raise this issue in my topic), here I would like to express the actual and virtual aspects of sanctions in political and international relation of Islamic Republic of Iran.
At first prospective, the thing which is clear and there is no doubt about it, is that sanctions will complicate the road of bilateral and multilateral political and economical relations and trades. It will be difficult to make business with the other countries through the embargo or limitation which was imposed.
As a general, the economical counterparts ofIrancould be divided in three different groups:
The first groups are included those countries who are the founder or the supporter of imposed sanctions in all fields ofIran's co operation and business such as US,Britain, French…. beside of oil exportation which has been cut recently, Iran doesn't have any major trade activity with these countries and by some compromise we can say that bilateral trade between Iran and these countries has been slept since 2009.
The second group are containing by the neutral and independent countries or those countries who are seeking their own benefits and national interest whiteout linking their relation withIranto the other side issues, like china,India,Japan,South Korea. We have a good relation especially in the filed of economic practically oil exportation. Any change in the policy of these countries will botherIranforeign tread.
Finally the third group as an economical partner ofIran, mainly known as third world countries, although they have some business issues withIran, but their tread surplus withIranis not so much considerable therefore it couldn't make any essential or vital change inIran's position in case these are following the west in the sanction regime.
As a mater of fact, in some countries, economy runs the politics and some other countries are trying to achieve their political goals through strong economical relations which shows that there is a big link and connection between economy and policy so any good or bad aspects in both political and economical situations will affect the national interests of the country.
In spite of long experiences of sanction and limitation on Iran which was started after the revolution in 1979 , this new wave of sanction which started from 2007, was the worst one than before because it was affected the main part of Iran's economy such as oil exportation policy ,shipping line , banking system and so many other parts .
In this situation, making any kind of deal or agreements is a problematic issue; therefore other countries don't like to make businesses or even expand their political relation with the country which is a subject of international sanction. Although diplomatic missions between countries was established and existed, but it is so quite and there is no high ranking reciprocity official trip as well as low amount of bilateral trade . This situation now exists in political relation ofIranwith the west, European Union and even some Asian countries likeJapanandSouth Korea.
As an example, I can explain the political and economical situation betweenIranandSouth Korea.
South Koreawith the 18.5 Billion Dollar trade surplus is located in the forth place ofIran's economic partner but at least from 2008, that country was highly affected with new unilateral sanctions which was run by US. AlthoughSouth Koreawants to continue its trade especially in the field of oil exportation and automobile, but the sanction forced that country to make some amendment or revise its trade policy withIran. US had sent its envoys several times to negotiate with south Korean in order to convince them to deduct the amount of their crude oil purchase from Iran , finally the Korean government could not tolerate with this huge pressure by US , so they agreed to do so from mid of 2012 . In Addition to that the political situation between two countres is so quite and normal and the executive high ranking level delegation didn’t have official visit.
These sanctions also weakenIran's position in international arena. before the sanction if Iran had something's to share with, it was welcomed, but nowadays if there is a lawful, legitimate and rightful voice to be raised by Iran, less countries will hear and accept it, but because of this illegal and unjustifiable sanction, the rest wouldn't care about it so unfortunately it make some kind of isolation for our beloved, civilized and strong country.
As a conclusion I can say west in the near future will understand that it's behave towardIranwas totally wrong because the right whichIranis going to achieve it, is completely legal and legitimate.
